Are you procrastinating, or is it something else?

In today’s episode, we dive deep into the heart of procrastination, exploring not just what it is, but why we fall into its trap, often without even realizing it. I share my own battle with procrastination, and how this avoidance was rooted in a deeper fear of failure. Despite knowing the numbers were in my favor, the grip of procrastination held me back until I was faced with over a year’s worth of financials to sort through. It’s a powerful reminder of how our beliefs can shape our actions, or in this case, inaction.

We also unpack the difference between procrastination and resistance, emphasizing how our values play a crucial role in both. I discuss how tasks that conflict with our core values, like freedom, can create resistance, leading us to put off important tasks. Moreover, I explore how procrastination and resistance can evolve into habits that are as conditioned as Pavlov’s dogs salivating at the sound of a bell. Breaking free from these habits requires a conscious effort to reframe our beliefs and create new, more productive habits that align with our values and propel us forward.
